Is there a limit to the number of Swimlanes and Tasks, etc. that can be used in designing a Workflow?

  The number of modelling elements (BPMN icons) that can be placed in a single workflow diagram is limited as follows

  • Swimlanes: 50
  • Events, Tasks, and Gateways: 150 (total)
  • Annotations: 100

  (Reference) R2012: Limits on the Business Process Definition

   

  In addition, the number of nodes that can be processed by a single process is limited to 500. Please be careful when you use a lot of automatic processes in a loop structure.
