M415: Adding an Auto-Step to be Used in a Workflow App

 

When you want to automate Processing steps such as obtaining the number of characters and the hash value, it is impossible to define them using only the standard [Service Task] and [Event], you must use a [Script Task]. However, you will be able to automate your business easily by importing [Add-on XML], such as a "Number of Character Counter-addon.xml" or "Calculate Duration-addon.xml" in advance. (Service-Task Add-on)

1. Overview of Standard Equipped Auto-steps

a. Automatic Arithmetic Operations (M227)

Automatically updated by setting the formula (e.g. #q_numeric1 * 1.08 ).

b. Automatic Date Calculation (M227)

Automatically updated by setting the formula (e.g. #today.addDays(-7) ).

c. Automatic String Generation (M227)

Automatically updated by setting the formula (e.g. xyz-#{#format(#q_datetime, 'yyyy-MM-dd')} ).

d. Automatic PDF Generation (M228)

Prepare a [Template PDF] in which the "Insertion ID" has been set.

e. Automatic Storing to Google Drive (M229)

Set up "Target folder" and "File-owner".

• The [Script Task] is also a universal automatic Step (M230)

2. Incorporate the Definition File of the Auto-step that will be Added

1. Get Add-on XML

Be sure to download them from a trusted website (Trusted publisher).

2. Import

[App Detail] > [Manage Add-on].

• The maximum file size of Add-ons that can be registered is 20MB
• Users with [System Administrator] authorization can upload add-ons that will be available for all applications (up to 40)

3. Confirm if the Icon is Ready to Use

1. Move to the Edit Mode of a Workflow App

Start the App Modeler ([App Details] > [Edit]

2. Confirm if the icon has been added

New icon will be added to the Task Icon on the pallet

3. Confirm in the property screen

Drag & drop the icon onto a Swimlane and double click on it

• Add-ons registered in [App-shared add-on] can be used by all applications
• Add-on version (last-modified date) is displayed as a tooltip, when you move the mouse cursor on the add-on name on the property screen.
